Kidney cancer is also called Renal cancer. The cells in the kidney grow abnormally forming a tumor. These tumors are of 3 types- Malignant, indolent, or benign. Malignant and indolent tumors both are cancerous but indolent rarely spreads to other body parts than malignant tumors. The benign tumors grow but don't spread to other parts & are almost non-cancerous.

Transitional cell carcinoma: In this cancer occurs in the tubes connecting the kidney with the bladder. In this type, cancer starts in the ureters and later in the bladder.

Wilms Tumors: This is the most common cancer in children & rarely seen in adults.

Benign kidney Tumors: Most benign tumors are non-cancerous and don't spread to other parts of the body. These are removed from the kidney easily with minor complications even though they are massive.
